Hi all. I’m really sorry if I worried you by being so late to post a blog. These past couple weeks have been a bit crazy. Not really many photos to share, as a head’s up.
I learned last week on Thursday that my grandpa was very ill. This began the mad dash to see if there was a way for me to get back home to see him in a timely manner.
Thankfully, we were able to confirm that my insurance covered a trip back home in emergency situations, and we set the wheels in motion. I spent most of the weekend alternately working on an essay and decompressing with friends. Thankfully, I ran into a couple of Kiwi friends on my way to the library on Saturday, and they kidnapped me and took me around Dunedin for a couple of hours, which was a really nice break. And of course, we got fish and chips on the beach! It was such a lovely day too.
Insurance cleared my case Tuesday morning, so I was able to book flights for Wednesday and head back on a whirlwind trip. I’m here for just a short time before turning around and doing the whole trip back again. I’ll be back in New Zealand on Easter Sunday.
I’ll be back to adventures very soon! Since it’s now our fall break (weird, I know, right?), a group of us will be road tripping around the northern tip of the South Island, so stay tuned for that.
In the meantime, if you could keep my family in your prayers, that would be much appreciated. I’m so thankful for this chance to come back and see Grandpa, and I’m so grateful for the 21 years he’s been a part of my life. I love him so much.
